Star Wars Comics January 2025 Solicitations

January is usually a time of new beginnings for most people, especially as they start their attempts at New Year’s resolutions (which I believe in you, you can do it!), but for Marvel and mostly Dark Horse Star Wars comics in January 2025, it’s more about endings. On Marvel’s side, their big The Battle of Jakku maxiseries meets its climactic titular battle, Ewok adventures end, and the publisher looks back at their 10 years of comic legacy (which means I’ve been reviewing comics for 10 years now here and I’ll have to unpack that later). For Dark Horse, there’s finales to Echoes of Fear and Tales from the Occlusion Zone, while their main THRA series marches towards the era’s end, but they also bring something new: a Bad Batch miniseries! NYCC ’24 Dark Horse Panel: Poe Dameron Miniseries, Alyssa Wong High Republic One-shot, Previews, and More!

Really beyond the Hyperspace Stories maxiseries, Dark Horse’s comics output has largely been about The High Republic Adventures and its various spin-offs and one-shots, and while there was plenty of news and previews galore of the various storylines (like Alyssa Wong is writing an upcoming one-shot) at this year’s NYCC panel, new, non-THRA content was focused on as well, including a Poe Dameron miniseries! Dark Horse’s The High Republic Adventures comics expands again, this time with a new miniseries catching fans up with a variety of fan favorite characters and stories, with different writers and artists to go with them! The High Republic Adventures – Dispatches from the Occlusion Zone #1 doesn’t stray too far from the main series, but it’s a helpful new point in that story which also sets up the stories to come in this series. Star Wars Comics December 2024 Solicitations

Fans might be hunkering down for the winter, ready to enjoy some warm drinks and visits with family, but Marvel and Dark Horse have a packed and exciting December 2024 set for Star Wars comics! On the Marvel side, besides some Ewok fun, it’s all about the big Battle of Jakku maxiseries, which sees it wrap up its second arc and kick start it’s final one during the month, while Dark Horse’s High Republic-focused series not only have Eraidu’s growing tensions and the search for the fabled Rod of Ages, but the BIG WEDDING SPECTACULAR between Lula Talisola and Zeen Mrala! Take it easy with family and prepare for the big adventures ahead in December 2024’s Star Wars comics solicitations below!

Comic News: Battle of Jakku Maxiseries Announced, New High Republic Covers Revealed

Ahead of the SDCC publishing panel on July 25, the official site decided a few reveals were in order, starting with our first glimpse of what’s to follow this current era of comics: The Battle of Jakku maxiseries! Judging from the cover and the description, it looks like the comic will incorporate the defunct mobile game Star Wars: Uprising, as well as the Aftermath Trilogy, to solidify the lead up to the final battle of the Galactic Civil War. We also got covers for some upcoming The High Republic releases early, so between the maxiseries and the covers already being revealed, I expect we’ll be in for quite the treat at this panel! High Republic News: Dispatches from the Occlusion Zone and Echoes of Fear Revealed, June 2025 Phase III Ends, and More!

The High Republic Adventures series from Dark Horse looks to be the incubator for a lot of stories in Phase III of the High Republic, as while there’s already some one-shots and a miniseries, TWO new miniseries have been officially announced/revealed recently: Echoes of Fear and Dispatches from the Occlusion Zone! While one was revealed due to advanced comic solicitations, both got the grand reveal at the Portsmouth Comic Con, where the team also showed off some covers and interiors for other upcoming works, as well as setting a hard date on when the entirety of Phase III will end: June 2025! It might seem sooner than we’d all hope, but it’s sort of nice to know to plan ahead with tissue purchases. Head below for all the new reveals and details!
