Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge is the latest VR gaming series exclusive to the Oculus Quest platform from ILMxLAB and it originally released November 2020 and it’s next and final expansion, originally teased earlier this year, has its first trailer and new details. It’s still without a specific release date, but expect it sometime this Fall (maybe November again?). Check out the cool new trailer above, a few new details below, and head back here Monday (8/16) for our review of Part I our review of Part 1 now!
Not only will the expansion feature Dok-Ondar, but his mission for the players puts them in the middle of a long-time fight between Baron Attsmun and Lens Kamo, both seen in the trailer and the key art above. It seems Attsmun, who outwardly seems like a stand-up denizen of the galaxy, has a nefarious hidden side, one where he steals relics and uses them for some dark stuff. This is where Lens Kamo comes in, a relic hunter herself who’s more likely to want items in a museum, but probably for the right price of course (and with a little less fight than say Dr. Aphra). Attsmun, who is glimpsed in the Canto Bight scene from The Last Jedi, is voiced by Mark Rolston (The Shawshank Redemption, Aliens) and Kamo by Karla Crome (Carnival Row, Murder: Join Enterpise). From the trailer alone their squabble seems to open up some fun gameplay possibilities, with the neat interactive mural puzzle, and game director Jose Perez III promises more puzzles like it. Overall, Last Call looks like it might answer some of my initial problems with the opening part of the game and I’m eager for its Fall release date.
As I said, my review for Part I will be out 8/16 my review for Part 1 is out now and we’ll have a review of Last Call sometime later this year!
