Sometimes, it’s the simple things which build up excitement for a book, one usually being the cover, another being an excerpt, and lastly a special poster or something like that. With this week’s news, we get a great cover and additional details on the upcoming The High Republic – The Edge of Balance Vol. 3, while with April’s The Living Force novel…WE GET A MAP!!! Which, I get might not sound that exciting, but given how prevalent maps used to be in Star Wars novels, it’s a welcomed return! And hey, there’s a great new poster and the novel’s first excerpt too! Head below to see it all! Continue reading “Book News: High Republic’s Edge of Balance Vol. 3 Cover & The Living Force’s Map, First Excerpt Revealed”

Gaming News: Battlefront Classic Collection Arrives March 15!
When the original Battlefront I and II released in the early ‘00’s, while I was playing many video games at that time as I transitioned from grade school to high school, these Star Wars gaming classics consumed much of my time. I tried revisiting Battlefront II on PC (I played them on PlayStation back in the day), ahead of Battlefront II’s (2017) release, and it didn’t quite click like it used to, but it might’ve been more me than how the game had aged. Regardless, they have a special spot in my heart and the announcement of the Battlefront Classic Collection has me excited to try them again when they launch on March 15, with tons of extra content and the multiplayer servers open and ready for battle again. I might not have as much time as I did in 2004/5 to play these now, but if you’re on PlayStation, I’m a trusty fighter to have by your side so make sure to friend me: BrushYourTeeth. Head below for more details and a few screenshots of the updated action! Continue reading “Gaming News: Battlefront Classic Collection Arrives March 15!”

May is a rather joyous around the Manor and in Star Wars fandom overall, as the always growing celebrations of May the Fourth provide much to enjoy! This year it falls on Free Comic Book Day and there are two special FCBD issues to enjoy then, while that same weekend The Phantom Menace returns to theaters to celebrate 25 years! The comics are joining in on the film’s anniversary with a special one-shot and a series of anniversary covers, plus other prequel-set stories including Maul-centric chaos, but fans of all eras will have plenty to look forward to with plenty of big The High Republic moments and the Rebellion trying to rescue Mon Mothma (?!), to name a few things. High Republic News: Temptation of the Force Cover & Blurb Revealed
After artist Grant Griffin’s moody Phase III opening cover for The Eye of Darkness, he returns with a moody in whole different way cover for the second and penultimate adult novel of the Phase: June 11’s Temptation of the Force! Dropping this cover, which sees Elzar Mann and Avar Kriss sharing a rather intimate look now they’ve been reunited, as well as the blurb, which only doubles down on their growing feelings, on Valentine’s Day was a wonderfully calculated move; we see what you’re doing! Head below for the full angsty cover and to hear some teases of what’s to come in June with Tessa Gratton’s Temptation of the Force! Comic News: Darth Maul Stars in Latest Black, White & Red Miniseries, Out April 2024
Darth Vader certainly brought the chills in his, and Star Wars’ first, Black, White & Red miniseries, though considering how much Vader content we’ve had, it didn’t quite hit as hard. Now Darth Maul enters the ring for his own Black, White & Red miniseries and, given his spooky and bloody publishing history plus his iconic, devilish look, I do believe he’ll make even more of a splash in this format. Out April 25, 2024, the four-issue series will have a different creative team for each entry, with first featuring Benjamin Percy and Stefano Raffaele. Check out a few more details, as well as some wicked cool covers, for the first issue below, otherwise visit the Manor for our reviews starting April! The Mandalorian & Grogu Film Announced, Season 2 of Ahsoka Confirmed
After the way things ended in The Mandalorian season three, a disappointingly easy and far too quick conclusion to the series’ story so far, Jan Favreau and the story get to fail upwards in the first new Star Wars film to go into production, The Mandalorian & Grogu. Is it the start of a series of films? Is it bringing Din Djarin and Grogu’s story to an end? Or just picking it up until Dave Filoni’s film wraps up all the Mando-verse shows story? Will Pedro Pascal be more than the voice of Din for the film at least? Why couldn’t it just be another, shorter season of the show instead? And…is that really the title? Hopefully we’ll learn more soon since it’s set to be in production later this year. Also stealthily announced was a second season of Ahsoka, which was all but certain given how it all ended, but never confirmed until now. The Mandalorian & Grogu joins the upcoming slate of films which includes Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy’s Rey/New Jedi Order (my most anticipated!), James Mangold’s Dawn of the Jedi, and the aforementioned Dave Filoni one.
Check back to the Manor as we learn more!
