Star Wars: Visions Volume 3 Arrives 2025, Studios Announced!

While it seemed like a given considering the love from fans and the many nominations previous Volumes of Star Wars: Visions have received, it’s nice to see the confirmation a third volume is on its way for 2025! I suspect we’ll learn a lot more at April’s Star Wars Celebration in Japan, given Volume 3 returns the series solely to the country’s legendary anime scene, but for now we know the studios, some new and some returning, we’ll get to feast on new shorts from: Production I.G., Studio TRIGGER, Kinema citrus, Kamikaze Douga, ANIMA, David Production, Polygon Pictures, Project Studio Q, and WIT Studio. Head below for some thoughts about the returning studios and brief info on the new ones! Continue reading “Star Wars: Visions Volume 3 Arrives 2025, Studios Announced!”

Final Skeleton Crew Trailer Hits Those 80’s Vibes

Just over 2 and half months since the first trailer, and a little over a month until its premiere, Lucasfilm has unleashed the synth-heavy, 80’s throwback final trailer for Skeleton Crew! And yes, your ears are not deceiving you, that’s a Huttese cover of Peter Schilling’s “Major Tom (Coming Home)”, which my mileage is at least varying with. Check out the neat retro poster and some new details we’ve learned below! Continue reading “Final Skeleton Crew Trailer Hits Those 80’s Vibes”

D23 2024: Skeleton Crew Trailer, Andor Season Two Details, and More!

D23 hasn’t always been the place to go for Lucasfilm announcements or reveals, and it still was pretty subdued this year too (not even an The Acolyte season two announcement?!), but we did get our first public Skeleton Crew trailer, while panel-goers where treated to a sizzle reel for Andor season two and some brief shots from The Mandalorian and Grogu film. We also got a great look at the wild Rebuild the Galaxy LEGO special earlier in the day, so head below for a summary of what we all learned!

Final The Acolyte Trailer Promises the Truth is Out There

“No one is safe from the truth” is a wonderful little tagline for The Acolyte, as showrunner/executive producer Leslye Headland has teased multiple times now the show is sort of like an onion, peeling away something new right up until the finale. So one could say, in honor of a show I only started watching two years ago, the truth is out there, somewhere, and it’s up to The Acolyte‘s characters if they want to accept it or not. There’s plenty of mystery to unlock, just from the trailer alone: whose side is Qimir (Manny Jacinto) on, since we see him talking with Mae (Amandla Stenberg)? In the key art poster below, why are there two Mae’s and why does Headland tease this by saying “…embrace the duality that exists in every character,” as is she hinting Mae has a twin?! And Master Sol (Lee Jung-jae) asks the one everyone wants to know, “What are you?” to the masked, red-blade wielding character shown in the trailer’s final moments, whom Headland teases is her favorite character, as are they Sith or something else? June 4’s two episode premiere can’t come soon enough! Head below for the poster and some new Databank entries about characters, ships, and droids below! If I wasn’t at work, I wouldn’t have been able to pick up my jaw yet about this surprise announcement! While we were all waiting to hear more about a season two of Tales of the Jedi, Lucasfilm went ahead and did something unexpected but extremely welcomed: announcing Tales of the Empire, which releases in full on May 4, complete with the show’s first trailer! Much like the Jedi incarnation, Tales of the Empire will follow two characters over six episodes: Lady Morgan Elsbeth and former Jedi Barriss Offee! From one of the most intriguing new characters to another which fans have long been clamoring to discover the fate of, Tales of the Empire looks absolutely spellbinding. The Mandalorian & Grogu Film Announced, Season 2 of Ahsoka Confirmed

After the way things ended in The Mandalorian season three, a disappointingly easy and far too quick conclusion to the series’ story so far, Jan Favreau and the story get to fail upwards in the first new Star Wars film to go into productionThe Mandalorian & Grogu. Is it the start of a series of films? Is it bringing Din Djarin and Grogu’s story to an end? Or just picking it up until Dave Filoni’s film wraps up all the Mando-verse shows story? Will Pedro Pascal be more than the voice of Din for the film at least? Why couldn’t it just be another, shorter season of the show instead? And…is that really the title? Hopefully we’ll learn more soon since it’s set to be in production later this year. Also stealthily announced was a second season of Ahsoka, which was all but certain given how it all ended, but never confirmed until now. The Mandalorian & Grogu joins the upcoming slate of films which includes Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy’s Rey/New Jedi Order (my most anticipated!), James Mangold’s Dawn of the Jedi, and the aforementioned Dave Filoni one.
