Lourna Dee has spent a majority of her time shouting her name at the galaxy, but after spending more time with Jedi like Master Keeve Trennis, could it lead to changes or will she still be her normal, backstabbing, running-away-from-everything self? Cavan Scott’s The High Republic: Tempest Breaker, performed by a full cast, deals with Lourna at such a crossroads, and while it takes some time to get going, the compounded character journeys propel it into a memorable ride with compelling themes. NYCC ’24 Lucasfilm Publishing Panel: High Republic Phase 3 Covers, Jedi Knights Comic, and More!

While it didn’t unveil what Marvel’s big Star Wars plans are, the NYCC 2024 Lucasfilm Publishing Panel did feature much anticipated covers for The High Republic’s final wave of stories, new armored Jedi concept art for the era, and a tango-y poster for the upcoming audiobook Tempest Breaker, while there was one big Marvel Comics announcement: the Jedi Knights on-going series! Publishing News: Obi-Wan & Anakin Audiobook Released, Bad Batch Comic Miniseries & High Republic Adventures Annual Announced!

Sometimes, it’s just one of those days: an audiobook original for Audible gets shadow dropped by Disney Lucasfilm Press, while Dark Horse announces both a Bad Batch focused miniseries for January 2025 (via Star Wars News Net), and The High Republic Adventures Annual Phase III. Audible’s Padawan’s Pride follows a young Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi in the early days of their training (and I’ve already listened to some of it), Clone Force 99 rides again in Hyperspace StoriesThe Bad Batch: Ghost Agents, set during the Clone Wars, and the THRA Annual bring 5 stories of light and life during the era’s third Phase.
