Canon Comic Review: A New Legacy #1

– Spoiler Review –

Marvel celebrated 10 years of taking back over Star Wars comics this January via A New Legacy #1, a special one-shot which brings together several notable writers and artists from the past 10 years with a series of short stories focusing on characters created in the comics. While it at least starts strong, and overall is a fun time, what it’s lacking makes it an overall (good and bad) fitting representation of their 10 years of comics. High Republic News: Trials of the Jedi Cover Revealed!

While there are much bigger worries in the world, I still found myself a little anxious over the coming cover reveal from Charles Soule’s High Republic grand finale novel, Trials of the Jedi. Not concerning its content, but rather the bittersweet fact it’s the last (as we know, for now…) novel cover reveal for the era. It’s been an incredible journey these four years and seeing this cover, well…it’s really settling in the end isn’t just near, it’s practically here. January 29 has a big High Republic comic release, with endings to a few miniseries, the first Annual issue in a while, and the beginning of the big Battle of Eriadu storyline, so the ending has never felt more unavoidable until now, something I’m not sure how to process just yet. But enough about my melancholy, how about let’s see this gorgeous full cover?! Head below for the whole thing by Grant Griffin, as well as some additional minor details! Comic News: Kylo Ren Comic from Charles Soule Announced for 2025

Having just teased fans at NYCC, Charles Soule’s next Marvel comic for Star Wars has been announced: a Kylo Ren focused on-going series named Legacy of Vader. Set in the year between The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker, the series looks to explore the fallout of all his actions so far, something the films didn’t have as much time to digest (nor did fans due to little tie-in media). With art by the talented Luke Ross, which some preview pages were also revealed, Legacy of Vader starts February 2025 so head below now for all the details and first look.
