Star Wars Outlaws Story Trailer Promises Grand Adventures, Reveals August 30 Release Date!

After the gameplay walkthrough video released alongside its announcement back in June 2023, I didn’t really need to see more to be convinced I was going to get Star Wars Outlaws when it releases. The latest lowdown on the game, a story trailer, an August 30 release date, and pre-order bonuses came in handy for my confirmation bias about how good this game really looks. The tenacious Kay Vess, her adorable merqaal Nix, and enforcer droid ND-5 mixing it up with the galactic underworld elite, all to secure her freedom to start a new life, and doing so in scoundrel-ific fashion, visiting locales like Akiva, Toshara, and returning to her home of Cantonica’s Canto Bight…what more could you want?! Tales of the Empire Announced, Out May 4!

If I wasn’t at work, I wouldn’t have been able to pick up my jaw yet about this surprise announcement! While we were all waiting to hear more about a season two of Tales of the Jedi, Lucasfilm went ahead and did something unexpected but extremely welcomed: announcing Tales of the Empire, which releases in full on May 4, complete with the show’s first trailer! Much like the Jedi incarnation, Tales of the Empire will follow two characters over six episodes: Lady Morgan Elsbeth and former Jedi Barriss Offee! From one of the most intriguing new characters to another which fans have long been clamoring to discover the fate of, Tales of the Empire looks absolutely spellbinding. Star Wars Comics June 2024 Solicitations

June is a rather big month in Star Wars, with the premiere of The Acolyte and the next wave of The High Republic kicking off with Temptation of the Force, though thankfully the comics hold up their end too! The trail of Lando reaches its conclusion, Baron Boolan’s devious machinations come to light, Maul has a crisis of faith, the Jango Fett miniseries ends, and much more! Also, as is tradition, the Pride Month variant covers will return as well, though they’ve yet to be revealed. The Acolyte Trailer Teases the Rise of Darkness with Two Episode Premiere June 4

Drink in that trailer, folks, because it’s a hearty taste of what’s to come on The Acolyte, premiering with two episodes on June 4! I know I’m still freaking out from how damn good it was! Set towards the end of the High Republic era (so around 100 years before The Phantom Menace), a series of Jedi murders brings about an investigation while a darkness sets to rise…which we get a tease of with a spinning red lightsaber in the closing minutes of the Jedi kung fu filled, eerie and tonally dark, trailer! The Acolyte Sets June 4 Premiere, Teaser Poster Released

Ahead of The Acolyte’s first public trailer (one premiered at Celebration Europe 2023 but only grainy camera footage exists) on 3/19/2024 at 10am CST, the official site and related social media accounts revealed a grisly intriguing teaser poster, release date (June 4), and brief synopsis for the highly anticipated show. High Republic News: Next Audiobook, Tempest Breaker, Out December 3

Every Phase of The High Republic gets an audiobook original and Phase III: Trial of the Jedi’s is finally revealed: Tempest Breaker, written by Cavan Scott and featuring a full cast again! By the title and cover alone, Scott returns to the dastardly Lourna Dee again, but this time she’s joined by…friends? Who are Jedi?! What is going on here?! Reading Scott’s current The High Republic – Phase III run for Marvel will offer the biggest hints on how we get to this point, but there’s no doubts Tempest Breaker will be quite the story if it stars Lourna Dee and Jedi Masters Keeve Trennis and Avar Kriss! Sometimes, it’s the simple things which build up excitement for a book, one usually being the cover, another being an excerpt, and lastly a special poster or something like that. With this week’s news, we get a great cover and additional details on the upcoming The High Republic – The Edge of Balance Vol. 3, while with April’s The Living Force novel…WE GET A MAP!!! Gaming News: Battlefront Classic Collection Arrives March 15!

When the original Battlefront I and II released in the early ‘00’s, while I was playing many video games at that time as I transitioned from grade school to high school, these Star Wars gaming classics consumed much of my time. I tried revisiting Battlefront II on PC (I played them on PlayStation back in the day), ahead of Battlefront II’s (2017) release, and it didn’t quite click like it used to, but it might’ve been more me than how the game had aged. Regardless, they have a special spot in my heart and the announcement of the Battlefront Classic Collection has me excited to try them again when they launch on March 15, with tons of extra content and the multiplayer servers open and ready for battle again. Star Wars Comics May 2024 Solicitations

May is a rather joyous around the Manor and in Star Wars fandom overall, as the always growing celebrations of May the Fourth provide much to enjoy! This year it falls on Free Comic Book Day and there are two special FCBD issues to enjoy then, while that same weekend The Phantom Menace returns to theaters to celebrate 25 years! The comics are joining in on the film’s anniversary with a special one-shot and a series of anniversary covers, plus other prequel-set stories including Maul-centric chaos, but fans of all eras will have plenty to look forward to with plenty of big The High Republic moments and the Rebellion trying to rescue Mon Mothma (?!), to name a few things.
