Star Wars Gaming Respawns: Jedi Fallen Order Sequel, New FPS, and Strategy Game Announced

While EA Games lost the exclusive rights to Star Wars games, that doesn’t mean they won’t still be behind some new titles, which Lucasfilm Games and EA confirmed with the news Respawn Entertainment will be leading the charge of new Star Wars games for EA. They have three games in active development, starting with a new Star Wars: Jedi entry, aka a sequel to Jedi – Fallen Order, and two unnamed games, a FPS (or first-person shooter) and a strategy game. For those curious if there’s still an opportunity for Battlefront III, it looks like that’s completely axed and Respawn will exclusively be behind new Star Wars games. It is disappointing Lucasfilm Games didn’t take a moment to address any of the Star Wars Eclipse controversary, instead choosing to announce more games and ignore it, but hopefully there’s a time and place for that soon. Jedi: Fallen Order, a single-player action-adventure game from the developers at Respawn Entertainment, centers on the young Jedi Padawan, Cal Kestis, as he gets wrapped up in an adventure to restart the Jedi Order, set 5 years after Revenge of the Sith. The game has a rather excellent story, solid but rewarding combat, and great exploration mechanics, but little things along the way, including the main character, dampen some of the experience. New Jedi: Fallen Order Trailer Dives into Story, Mysteries

After June’s gameplay walkthrough, we’ve been due for a new trailer for Jedi: Fallen Order, November 15’s upcoming single-player Star Wars video game, and this one does not disappoint in the slightest: from big creepy creatures to battle, the Second Sister’s restless pursuit, Cere and Greez rescuing Cal, and all the cool, ancient Jedi discovery stuff Cal looks to get up to, there’s a lot more here than first met the eyes in its initial reveal. Jedi: Fallen Order – Dark Temple Tie-in Comic Miniseries Announced

Fresh off all the new gameplay and details at E3 2019, I’m getting rather excited for Jedi: Fallen Order, and now a 5-issue prequel comic miniseries has been announced! Jedi: Fallen Order – Dark Temple, written by Matthew Rosenberg (Original Marvel Star Wars Years #108) and art by Paolo Villanelli (Lando: Double or Nothing), will follow Padawan Cere Junda and her Jedi Master Eno Cordova as they excavate a long lost temple when things, of course, get out of hand. E3 2019: Jedi: Fallen Order Gameplay, New Details Revealed, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga Announced

At EA Play 2019, a pre-E3 2019 event put on by game publisher EA, Respawn Entertainment took the stage to unveil our first look at Jedi: Fallen Order gameplay, while a new trailer premiered the day after (see above). I wasn’t initially sold on the game from the reveal trailer, but after nearly 15 minutes of gameplay (see below), I managed to more than fall in love with the game, while Game Informer’s cover story on the game blew the lid off some intriguing new details cementing my excitement for my game.
