March’s Star Wars comics in 2022 sadly take a break from the High Republic era, as its first Phase ends earlier in the year, and goes all in on its post-The Empire Strikes Back push, as Qi’ra’s galaxy-brain plans explore her operatives’ pasts, the Rebellion Fleet reunion enters its final leg, Aphra returns to her…university, maybe, and so much more. Plus, March sees the start of a new series, Han Solo & Chewbacca, which promises a final page reveal you won’t want to miss…so I break down some options below. Check it all out! February’s Star Wars comic solicitations look to be dominated by The High Republic’s Phase I finale content, so much so I don’t think any amount of chocolates on Valentine’s Day will help with the fallout. Cataclysmic and galaxy-shaking events reverberate throughout all High Republic content, while Sabé returns to haunt Darth Vader’s life, the Star Wars hotel tie-in has some exciting faces to explore, and a few of January’s issues slip into the month. Star Wars Comics January 2022 Solicitations

With 2022 looking for be a banner year for on-screen Star Wars content, with numerous shows on their way to Disney+, and the first Star Wars Celebration since 2019, it’s only right January’s Star Wars comics belong to The High Republic. The 4 issues scheduled for the month coincide with the launch of Phase I: Wave III’s content, which brings the opening salvo of the era launched in 2021 to a ominous sounding close. Star Wars Comics December 2021 Solicitations

Normally December is a month of mid-winter celebrations, but Star Wars comics looks to be anything but joyous and cheerful, as the underworld is in chaos due to Crimson Dawn’s startling return, Vader’s leading a crew to take them down, Aphra and Sana find themselves dealing with an ancient cult (if they’re elves, that would at least be festive), while The High Republic era content doesn’t seem any more uplifting with murder investigations and the deadly Lourna Dee holding a lightsaber. Star Wars Comics November 2021 Solicitations

By November 2021, Star Wars comics will be changed forever by the events of the War of the Bounty Hunters crossover, but one look at these solicitations and you’d wonder how it sounds much different than what’s come before…though of course they weren’t going to reveal how everything will change via these solicits! The official site’s post with the early preview suggests, “As the story ends, the…landscape will find a new status quo,” so it sounds like November will deal with the fallout from the crossover’s events. It sounds like an intriguing month anyways, with each series dealing with the fallout of Qi’ra and Crimson Dawn’s return while The High Republic era has some potentially big revelations. Star Wars Comics October 2021 Solicitations

October is set to be an eventful month, as my wife and I finally will have our postponed wedding ceremony and go on our honeymoon, and maybe celebrate my birthday in there somewhere! So it’s little anxiety inducing for me to see that it’ll also be an eventful month for Star Wars comics: The High Republic era deals with some shocking events in the most recent novel releases, while the months-long epic mega crossover event War of the Bounty Hunters comes to its conclusion in October, where it promises to change the status quo of Star Wars comics. Star Wars Comics August 2021 Solicitations

With the on-going War of the Bounty Hunters crossover, every month looks packed for Star Wars comics, but August’s solicitations seem to have to unpack than the months before. There’s a big convergence of High Republic characters in a big, upcoming battle with the deadly Drengir, a battle royale with Jabba the Hutt, Darth Vader, and Boba Fett, Luke Skywalker has gone missing…again, and holy forking shirtballs Doctor Aphra and Sana Starros come face-to-face with Vader! Star Wars Comics July 2021 Solicitations

By July, with the War of the Bounty Hunters mega-crossover in full swing, you might find yourself if the frozen popsicle of Han Solo will really be worth all this trouble or you might be enjoying the shenanigans of this interconnected, multi-series story too much to sweat the small stuff. As the solicitations for July’s Star Wars comics promise (so far, as these are only initial ones via the official site’s blog, so expect updates later this week. Star Wars Comics June 2021 Solicitations

Clearly we all underestimated the upcoming War of the Bounty Hunters crossover, as the June 2021 Star Wars comics solicitations reveal it not only has the prelude issues in May, but it’ll have both the miniseries and tie-in issues going forward, through October! And here I was originally assuming this would lead into a Shadows of the Empire-type event, but it seems this is that big event itself! So read on below to learn about Chewbacca battling Valance (expect limbs to be lost!), Vader and Ochi going up against IG-88 (is there enough ‘man’ left in Vader to defeat this machine?), and Doctor Aphra and Sana Starros come face to face with….DURGE?! Yes, that Durge! Also coming in June, Pride Variant covers, which is a nice touch though I wish they could’ve offered more, like a full issue of Pride-related Star Wars tales…but I’ll take this for now!
