Star Wars Comics July 2022 Solicitations

Star-Wars-Comics-July-2022-Solicitations

July is set to be a refreshing month for Star Wars comics, as many of the current series’ reach their 25th issue mark, closing out storylines and beginning new ones…well, if they actually come out in July. Unfortunately, the global issues with shipping, printing, and paper are still affecting comics and many of April, May, and June’s have slipped into different months, with several from June and even May releasing in July now. So these issue below likely won’t be out in July due to the landslide effects (maybe August?), but they are exciting looks at where things will go once the Star Wars comics get there. Check out “July’s” Star Wars comic solicitations below, where we see Sana Starros leading a crew to rescue Aphra (?!?), the chaos Qi’ra unleashes on the galaxy, a deadly mission during the Clone Wars for Obi-Wan, and more! Star Wars Comics June 2022 Solicitations

Star-Wars-Comics-June-2022-Solicitations

Compared to last June‘s Star Wars comics solicitations, 2022 might not have anything as big as the War of the Bounty Hunters crossover, in fact we have a break from Qi’ra’s comic trilogy, but it is packed with issues that should interest fans of all eras. June kicks off The Mandalorian‘s adaptation comic, Qui-Gon Jinn guest appearances in the Obi-Wan comic (and maybe Obi-Wan show!), Chelli Aphra has to battle her memories to escape her latest problems, while Charles Soule digs up tales across his Star Wars comics career for a truly spectacular and epic 25th issue for his current Star Wars run. June will once again have Pride Month variants, though they haven’t been revealed yet and I have some hopes Lucasfilm/Marvel will do a little better this time around (especially in light of everything going on with the company). Head below for all the details on Star Wars comics’ June 2022 solicitations! UPDATED 4/13: There’s been a lot of delays at the moment, so you’ll find a few June comics are actually ones from either April or May…I’ve updated the dates for the original June releases below. Star Wars Comics June 2021 Solicitations

Star Wars Comics June 2021 Solicitations

Clearly we all underestimated the upcoming War of the Bounty Hunters crossover, as the June 2021 Star Wars comics solicitations reveal it not only has the prelude issues in May, but it’ll have both the miniseries and tie-in issues going forward, through October! And here I was originally assuming this would lead into a Shadows of the Empire-type event, but it seems this is that big event itself! So read on below to learn about Chewbacca battling Valance (expect limbs to be lost!), Vader and Ochi going up against IG-88 (is there enough ‘man’ left in Vader to defeat this machine?), and Doctor Aphra and Sana Starros come face to face with….DURGE?! Yes, that Durge! Also coming in June, Pride Variant covers, which is a nice touch though I wish they could’ve offered more, like a full issue of Pride-related Star Wars tales…but I’ll take this for now! Marvel’s The High Republic Comic Series Previewed

Marvel's The High Republic Preview

With the novels getting much of the spotlight in the build-up to the January 2021 release of The High Republic publishing initiative, it’s about time the comics shared in the hype! The official site’s blog hosted a preview of the first issue of Marvel’s The High Republic on-going comic, written by Cavan Scott, pencils by Ario Anindito, inks by Mark Morales, and a cover from Phil Noto. In it, we’re introduced to Keeve Trennis, her Master Sskeer, and a funny connection from a comic released in 2015. Comics have become a giant part of my fandom and this small tease is enough to take my excitement for the High Republic initiative to a whole new level. Head below for some more thoughts and a look at the preview! (Update: THR has begun and our reviews are rolling in!) Continue reading “Marvel’s The High Republic Comic Series Previewed”

Since 2015, the Star Wars series has been a constant for Marvel comics, exploring the three year time span between A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back with different writers and plenty of different artist teams.
