Battlefront Beta, Galaxy of Heroes Mobile Game Details Announced

Battlefront BetaThirsty for a taste of Battlefront’s next-gen action? A public beta will be coming in October across current-gen consoles and PC, so get your blasters ready to see if it’ll be worth 60 bucks to you in November. Also announced recently were new details about the mobile game, Galaxy of Heroes, which you’ll probably play to pass the time between Battlefront matches and waiting for The Force Awakens in the theater lines. More details for both below. Continue reading “Battlefront Beta, Galaxy of Heroes Mobile Game Details Announced”

Star Wars Battlefront Fighter Squadron and Blast Modes Detailed, Trailer

Fighter Squadron

Two new modes have been revealed for the upcoming Star Wars Battlefront, joining the several already announced, and they are Blast and Fighter Squadron, the latter of which finally has me truly excited for this revival (besides just the gorgeous graphics). I’m so excited I’ll likely end up playing Fighter Squadron so much you’ll either be lucky to see me flying your wing or be deathly afraid of me as I get you in my sights. Probably. Hopefully. E3 2015 Star Wars News: Battlefront Gameplay Footage, SWTOR Expansion, Disney Infinity 3.0 Sets, and Mobile Games

While it feels just as staged as the demo us Star Wars Celebration Anaheim attendees saw behind-closed-doors, there’s no denying how beautiful Star Wars Battlefront looks, as seen in the above gameplay trailer. But that wasn’t all for Star Wars gaming news, as The Old Republic MMO had a new expansion announced, some more details on the Disney Infinity 3.0 playsets (like where you can get a Boba Fett figure first), and unfortunately another dang mobile card collecting game. The only disappointment was the lack of any news (not even a title!) for Visceral Games’ project. Head below for more video and details. Battlefront Trailer, Gameplay Demo, Battle of Jakku DLC, and Novel Details (SWCA 2015)

By now it’s pretty likely you’ve already seen the Battlefront trailer, though not as likely as The Force Awakens or Star Wars Rebels Season 2 trailers, but definitely likely. Once you’re done soaking in the lush forest moon of Endor graphics from the trailer, I have details on the behind closed doors gameplay demo on the show floor, the new information released about the game, the Battle of Jakku DLC pack, and details on the tie-in novel Star Wars: Battlefront: Twilight Company. Star Wars Battlefront Confirmed for Celebration Anaheim

SW Battlefront 2015EA’s developer DICE have announced—through EA’s dedicated Star Wars siteStar Wars Battlefront will be making some type of appearance at Celebration Anaheim in April. With a Holiday 2015 release date still expected, it’s a given we’ll get a glimpse of the first gameplay footage from the game. The details are still forthcoming for what its debut entails, but I’m expecting at least a gameplay heavy trailer, a possible panel, and desperately hoping for a hands-on demo, or at the very least a behind closed doors event for the press. Of course, it’d be even better with a surprise appearance from the other EA developers, Visceral and BioWare, to tease what they’ve been working on for SW too. One can certainly hope. Star Wars: Battle Pod In Arcades Now!

Announced back in October, Battle Pod has been installed at where ever you can find a local arcade, which for most people nowadays is probably a Dave & Busters. The video above was uploaded by the official Star Wars YouTube channel and it shows off some of the crew behind Battle Pod, the immersive screen technology, and all the levels the Pod contains. Below is a trailer from Bandai Namco showcasing a big chunk of gameplay footage.

Telltale’s Game of Thrones Trailer, New Characters, Returning Cast Revealed

If reading all the books, watching the TV series, or diving into the online forums just hasn’t been enough Game of Thrones for you, then behold another way to engage with the fantasy series: Telltale Games’ Game of Thrones. And let’s face it, there’s never enough Game of Thrones for anyone, so I’m right there with you in eagerly anticipating this series. Telltale’s series will follow House Forrester from the ending of the 3rd season of the show and go right up till the start of the 5th and upcoming season. And much like an episode of the show or reading one of the books, you’ll play as 5(!) different characters over 6 episodes. The first episode, Iron From Ice, is ‘coming soon’ which could even mean next week for all we know, but in the mean time, here’s a look at the Forrester family tree that you’ll be coming in contact with throughout the season and the actors and actress reprising their roles from the show.

After 20 years, the premier flight-sims of the 90’s (and some consider arguably of all-time) and what many deem the best Star Wars games ever (besides or even better than Knights of the Old Republic), X-Wing and TIE Fighter are being re-released digitally for $10 a pop…today. They are the Special Editions, which include expansions, updated graphics, and other bonus content. It looks like it’s time to dust off the old joystick, or find a new one to buy.
