Dark Horse Enters the Race with Hyperspace Stories, Tales from the Rancor Pit

It’s been 6 months since the announcement Dark Horse would return to publish Star Wars comics and now we have the first details on their non-The High Republic content! Dark Horse is focusing on all-ages comics, like IDW did from 2017-2021, with two series: 1) Star Wars: Hyperspace Stories, essentially their take on IDW’s Star Wars Adventures line, as it’s an anthology series set in all different eras on the timeline. 2) Tales from the Rancor Pit, a new take on the horror anthology goodness IDW cooked up with their Vader’s Castle series. These two join the already announced The High Republic – Quest of the Jedi, though while that’s not out until October or later, these should be out in the summer! Head below for more details and a look at the first covers. Continue reading “Dark Horse Enters the Race with Hyperspace Stories, Tales from the Rancor Pit”

Book News: Shadow of the Sith, Brotherhood, and More Novels Bring Essential Stories to 2022

With The High Republic books and comics dominating the publishing landscape of Star Wars, we were due for some news about books across other parts of the Saga, but I did not expect what just dropped today! Star Wars Comics June 2021 Solicitations

Star Wars Comics June 2021 Solicitations

Clearly we all underestimated the upcoming War of the Bounty Hunters crossover, as the June 2021 Star Wars comics solicitations reveal it not only has the prelude issues in May, but it’ll have both the miniseries and tie-in issues going forward, through October! And here I was originally assuming this would lead into a Shadows of the Empire-type event, but it seems this is that big event itself! So read on below to learn about Chewbacca battling Valance (expect limbs to be lost!), Vader and Ochi going up against IG-88 (is there enough ‘man’ left in Vader to defeat this machine?), and Doctor Aphra and Sana Starros come face to face with….DURGE?! Yes, that Durge! Also coming in June, Pride Variant covers, which is a nice touch though I wish they could’ve offered more, like a full issue of Pride-related Star Wars tales…but I’ll take this for now!
